The Gallery area of Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace showcases the creative and experimental work of many designers and textile artists, but there was one that was clearly fishing for attention and blew all of the others out of the water…

‘Kate’s Plaice, The Stitchmongers’ by Kate Jenkins

Kate’s Plaice, The Stitchmongers was masterminded by textile artist Kate Jenkins. Working with yarn and sequins, Kate presented a banquet if glittering knitted and crocheted sea creatures on which to feast the eyes.

Customers can buy an array of fish, prawns, cockles and mussels off the counter and have them mounted and signed as original art pieces.
