It’s our 9th birthday!

It crept up on me (and in fact I had to check Wayback Machine to confirm the exact date), but this Thursday, 6th October, is the 9th anniversary of publishing my first knitting pattern and knit-related blog post.

Unlike many folks who knit, I wasn’t taught by my mother or grandmother. In fact my grandmother put an early end to my childhood knitting career when I found the holey, wonky and very short garter-stitch scarf I knitter her for Christmas had been filed in her dustbin. I didn’t pick up the needles again until 2007 when by chance I decided to attend a knit night at I Knit London shop because I had nothing better to do that evening, and why not. It was love at first stitch. I rapidly developed a worrying yarn addiction, and within a year I started designing and blogging. Fast forward to 2017 and my hobby obsession is increasingly becoming my profession – I dropped my first wholesale order off this morning [more on that exciting news soon!].

It seems only fitting to have some celebrations and say thank you to everyone that has knitted our patterns, bought our yarn, dyed with kits or simply followed our blog and feeds. So, over the next week we are running giveaways on Instagram, starting with one of our Speckled Yarn Dyeing Kits.

Keep an eye on our feed for more!

We’re also leaving a few ‘Easter Eggs’ (hidden special offers) on our website, for those prepared to hunt!

There are, of course, a handful of people who have gone above beyond the call of duty, without whose behind-the-scenes help and support It’s a Stitch Up would not be where it is today. Over the next few days I’ll be sharing a bit about those wonderful people.
