This product can be shipped worldwide. It differs from the UK version in that it does not include citric acid. White vinegar can be used as an alternative, which is widely available in grocery stores.

Create your own skein of speckle-dyed yarn. Speckled dying is one of the most straightforward and fun yarn dyeing techniques – you can try it for yourself with our beginner-friendly kits.

What’s in the box

  • Little Book of Yarn Dyeing
  • 1 x 100g skein superwash yarn, either 4 ply merino, or DK or aran British Bluefaced Leicester
  • 2 x 0.5g Procion MX reactive dye pigment
  • 1 mini sieve
  • 1 pair disposable gloves

You will need…

  • White vinegar
  • Microwave oven or stainless steel vegetable steamer
  • Large glass or stainless steel bowl
  • Plastic tray, approx. A3 sized

Speckled yarns knit up to produce a fabric with no pooling, and are increasingly popular in contemporary knitwear. They’re not widely commercially available as they’re difficult to produce in bulk, and of course, no two skeins are the same.

No dyeing experience necessary. The kit contains fine powders that are not suitable for handling by children.
