This pattern uses 12-24 shades and is ideal for advent mini-skeins sets. It’s designed to be a relaxing knit, while having enough interest to keep you engaged.

Suggested yarn

• It’s a Stitch Up Favourite Sock Minis (73m/80 yards per 20g skein, 100% wool), or
• It’s a Stitch Up Dynamite DK Minis (45m/400 yards per 100g skein, 100% wool)

Alternative yarns

The pattern is for standard 4 ply/fingering or DK weight yarns (both versions are included in the pattern bundle). Choose yarns with a smooth and bouncy handle, that will enhance natural spring of garter stitch.

To build yourself a gradient set, we recommend RiverKnits Bluefaced Leicester 4 Ply minis, available in over 70 hand dyed semisolid colourways.

Choosing colours

The earthy texture of garter stitch comes to life with tonal and lightly variegated shades. We created this design for a gradient set of 24 colours, but you do not have to limit your creativity to a gradient colour scheme. Why not experiment with contrasts, or create unexpected combinations with leftovers!
