A beaded shawl in a textured, geometric lace pattern with asymmetric edging detail
Crystalline is our first original lace pattern and our first pattern designed for our Brilliance 4 Ply wool/silk yarn. It’s now available as a knitting kit with hand dyed yarn and Japanese knitting beads.
The all-over lace design is inspired by crystal and architectural forms and is based on a classic tumbling blocks motif, with beading and garter stitch detail. The design features staggered cast-on and cast off, and diamond-shaped lace edging.
The pattern is suitable for knitters with experience of lace knitting and knitting from charts (though written instructions are also included).
Visit the Crystalline Shawl Techniques page for tips and video clips for this pattern.
Beads are applied using the crochet hook method (instructions given).
