No experience required! This beginner-friendly kit is a fantastic introduction to dyeing your own yarn. The materials and instructions included enable you to create a variety of colour effects. Match your personal style with our colour palette options, with shades carefully curated to work together. The yarn options have been selected for their ease of dyeing and are the same high-quality yarns we use ourselves.

What’s in the box

  • Little Book of Yarn Dyeing, our full-colour beginner’s guide
  • 100g skein superwash wool yarn – choose from 4 ply, or DK, worsted or aran weight (our worsted-weight is supplied as 2 x 50g skeins)
  • 3 x 0.5g vials Procion MX reactive dye pigment
  • 10g citric acid crystals
  • 200ml dropper bottle
  • Wooden stirrers
  • 1 pair disposable gloves

You will need…

  • Microwave oven or stainless steel vegetable steamer
  • Large Pyrex glass or stainless steel bowl
  • Plastic or stainless steel tray

The kit contains fine powders that are not suitable for handling by children.

We’ve try our best to source the materials in our kits responsibly. The kit box is UK made from part recycled pulp and is recyclable. The paper packing is recycled and recyclable. The dropper bottles are reusable and recyclable at kerbside in most parts of the UK. The booklet is printed on FSC certified paper, and the stirrers are made from FSC certified wood and are biodegradable. Even the disposable gloves are of a superior quality, meaning they can be reused.
