Rarely has a fibre arrived at It’s a Stitch Up HQ that we’ve been so excited to get our hands on! This blend feels incredibly decadent, yet bursting colour and texture.

Merino is a soft and versatile fibre that works well with most spinning techniques, from delicate singles to bouncy piled yarns.

Silk gives this blend drape and shine. Mulberry is a cultivated silk made by Bombyx Mori moth, with a diet of Mulberry leaves! It is finer and brighter white than cheaper Tussah silk and has an almost metallic glow when dyed.

Our sari silk is from India, where it is transformed from a waste product as old clothing to a useful and exciting fibre. While silk is not vegan, many people who avoid animal products for environmental reasons will find this recycled product appealing. It adds vibrant bursts of colour to the blend, both as little clusters/nepps, longer fibres and threads that pop to the fore when spun. It’s a fun alternative to synthetic effect fibres.

The wool in this blend is non-superwash so it can also be used for felting.
