This skein was handspun by Suzie from a soft and luxurious and unusual fibre blend. It combines two different gradient braids dyed by Hilltop Cloud in Wales, plied together for a ‘barber pole’ double gradient effect. It is a one-of-a-kind. Rose fibre is a sustainable cellulose with a lustrous, smooth texture. Yak is a very fine fibre (15-19 micron) with excellent drape, and is a sustainable alternative to cashmere.
It is a bouncy yarn that feels great against the skin. It is spun as a smooth yarn with a 2 ply structure, spun with a high twist, giving these fine fibres extra resilience. It is ideal for weaving, and for simple knitting and crochet stitches that let its beautiful texture and colour effect shine through.
Handspun yarn has some variation in thickness throughout the skein and we recommended you swatch to find the right tension for your project.
