This beginner-friendly kit is a fantastic introduction to dyeing your own yarn. There are materials and instructions for four different dye techniques – speckle dyeing, dip dyeing, painting and immersion dyeing – enabling a wide variety of colour effects to be achieved. No dyeing experience is needed. Most of the equipment is reusable.
What’s in the box

- 2 x 100g skeins superwash wool yarn – choose from 4 ply, or DK or aran weight
- 3.5g Procion MX reactive dye pigment (1g primary yellow, 1g primary turquoise, 1g primary magenta, 0.5g black)
- 20g citric acid crystals
- 2 x 200ml dropper bottles
- 1 mini sieve
- Stainless steel dye spoon
- Wooden stirrers
- 1 pair disposable gloves
You will need…
- Microwave oven or stainless steel vegetable steamer
- Large Pyrex glass or stainless steel bowls
- Plastic tray, approx. A3 sized
The kit contains fine powders that are not suitable for children to handle.
