You might have noticed that things been a bit quiet here since the spring, that’s because there has been a lot going on outside of It’s a Stitch Up. I’ve had some health problems which have led to me feeling pretty rotten a lot of the time, and having to take some time out. After many tests, several hospital visits and one surgery I’m starting to feel better. I’m not someone who finds it easy to relax and do nothing, so that’s been quite a challenge!
The second big piece of news is that we’ve decided to move house! I have a lovely little Victorian terrace that I’ve spent the last 11 years restoring, and turning the concrete yard into a this little urban oasis.
It will be sad to leave but it’s time for a new WIP! Our new home is much better suited to our needs and I’ll be able to have a dedicated studio space again, and accommodate the burgeoning hand-dyed yarn inventory.
Buying and selling a house in the UK is a lengthy process that’s been quite disruptive to achieving anything else. I’ve been very busy finishing all those DiY jobs and getting the house looking its best. Most of my dyeing equipment is packed away, yarn inaccessible and the area I’ve been using as a photography studio has been reverted back to its intended purpose (apparently buyers want to see a conservatory looking like a conservatory).
But, pretty skeins have continued to emerge from the dye pot every once in a while, and the garden serves just fine as a photo studio when the sun comes out. These three beauties are among the latest, and they’re available in limited numbers from our online shop.
Yarn club is on pause until we’re moved a settled in (no idea when yet!) but we’re looking forward to bringing it back in autumn, and we’ve added a in case you’re feeling impatient.
I’m very excited about the move and look forward to getting settled and sharing photos of the new place!
