This week we’ve been busy at the dye pots creating yarns for lace knitting – just in time for the weather to finally warm up here in London! Two new laceweight yarns were added in this morning’s shop update – Brilliance Lace and Fuzzy Lace – as well as new shades of Brilliance 4 Ply.
Brilliance Lace
A laceweight version of our much-loved Brilliance 4 Ply in the same blend of fine British Bluefaced Leicester wool and silk. Brilliance Lace has 600m per 100g skein, for those who like their laceweight with a bit more weight. It has superb drape and is perfect for any kind of lace knitting. The combination of lustre wool and glistening silk gives amazing luminosity to our hand-dyed shades. We’ve launched it in a range of semi-solids, including neons for maximum brilliance!
Fuzzy Lace
Fuzzy Lace is a delicate brushed yarn in luxurious baby Alpaca surrounding shimmering strands of silk. It can be worked at a variety of tensions for different fabric effects; use larger needles for airy lace, or smaller needles for a lightweight yet incredibly snuggly and warm fabric. Try knitting it held together with another yarn to add a soft halo to garments. It’s also perfect for our Cauldhame scarf. Fuzzy Lace is available in 25g skeins with 150m per skein.
You may notice that we dyed a few shades of Brilliance Lace and Fuzzy Lace to coordinate with one another!
Brilliance 4 Ply – new shades
We’ve added hot red and cool emerald semi-solids to the Brilliance 4 Ply shade collection. Brilliance is perfect for lace projects and lightweight garments, including our Crystalline Shawl.
We hope you’re enjoying the spring sunshine wherever you happen to be. Outdoor knitting anyone?
