What is GPSR
GPSR or General Product Safety Regulation is legal framework affecting the EU and Northern Ireland, which came into effect on 13 December 2024. It aims to ensure the safety of consumer products sold in the EU and Northern Ireland by placing obligations on businesses, including labelling requirements and product recall procedures.
Which products are covered
All of our yarn and fibre products are GPSR compliant and we are happy to be able to continue to offer these to customers within the EU and Northern Ireland.
At this time, we have decided not to organise GPSR compliance for tools, accessories and other products. Unfortunately, these products are no longer available to customers within the affected region. Although these products comply with all EU safety regulations (several being manufactured in the EU), the cost of the required EU agent representation increases with each product type, and we don’t sell enough of these to EU customer to cover that cost at present.
GPSR does not apply to products manufactured before the date it came into effect that are already in the EU, but we are happy to follow the same safety procedures for all of our products.
How to raise a safety concern
From the date GPSR came into effect, all products shipped to the EU and Northern Ireland are labelled with the contact details to raise a safety issue.
You can also find these on our contact us page. Alternatively, you can contact our authorised representative (details below).
