Sustainability

We aim to minimise our impact on the planet. We are committed to being as transparent as possible about our supply chain to help you make informed decisions about what you buy.

Where possible, we source packing materials that have been made in the UK (to reduce the transport footprint) from recycled materials, and materials that are easy for customers to recycle locally. We are working towards eliminating single-use virgin plastic from our business entirely.

Yarn dyeing kits

Our dyeing kits contain a number of hard-to-find components that we have been able to source from British companies, but have not been able to verify the country of origin. Many of the kit contents are designed to be reused, but we have included information to help you dispose of them responsibly when they are no longer required.

Yarn

We only use yarn from suppliers who source responsibly. Much of our yarn is farmed in Britain, but where it is sourced from overseas, our suppliers support farmers to use sustainable farming practices, high animal welfare standards, and boost local communities by providing skilled work and funding education programmes. Please see individual yarn lines for details.

We have designed our yarn dyeing process to be water and energy efficient and use the minimum of chemicals. For more information, see Our hand-dyeing process.
